WEEKLY THOUGHTS #4

I consider myself to be more positive than a negative person. But sometimes, my actions and thoughts are saying something else. Over the ten-year period I developed some methods how to tackle these negative thoughts and today I would like to share them with you. You might be a quite positive person already, but I believe, that we all can prepare ourselves better for what can come into our journey, regardless of the pathway we choose. I believe that all of us already have some practices in mind that we are using like a sword to fight the bad dragon in our heads. But again, there are never enough shields to protect us.

It was ten years ago I started high school and I realised, soon after that, how bad I am in math and physics. It was torturing me, the teacher was awful and I just wanted to pass. Soon after, I joined an astronomy club where I somehow started to see everything from a different perspective. I started to think…

”Can I really do this when I don’t have the cells for math and physics?”

It happened to be true, that I graduated from computer modelling at Warsaw University last year. Those 10 years, taught me well. First of all, I want to bring up one principle that is so important to understand and which I understood just this week when I was accepted for a new job.

There is nothing in the whole wast Universe that would rule, give, or manipulate you in the way that you can’t accomplish anything you want to accomplish in a real time and mind.

Why I am saying this? What the hell? There must be some formula for every one of us because otherwise, people would not define talent as “to be good at something“. I am positive enough to stand behind the idea that we are powerful human beings that can manipulate ourselves to do whatever. It happened to me. Until my 18 years old, I was not able, I repeat that, NOT ABLE, to handle simple math equations, because I could not understand what the hell that x and y were for. Believe me. It is true. I am not gonna put here the track record of my grades but I will tell you how to do it. What to do with your mind to be able to achieve something, maybe similar, maybe something you wanted for a long time, but didn’t know HOW.

As hard as this all seems, it is standing on simple principles guarded by a behaviour called DISCIPLINE. The first principle is:

  • Know WHY you want to do, make, create or achieve whatever you want to do, make, create or achieve.

This is the basic that I learnt after many many years. Something called a “burning desire“ as Napoleon Hill would call it in his books. You need to find the truth. The truth about why you want what you want even though it seems unreal, very unreal for you, fight now. Can you imagine how much unreal was it for me to graduate from something which is related to quantum chemistry when I could barely understand what x means in mathematical equations? I think you can imagine that. Because, I believe that you have something in your mind that you want to pursue, but don’t know how. So, go ahead. Take a piece of paper and write down what you want to do, make, create or achieve and write down a clear statement about why you want to achieve it. Don’t worry too much about the fact you may sound ridiculous or posh. We all have desires such as I want to have a million dollars because I want to be seen as a rich and smart person. This is for you. Nobody else does need to see it. Now, when you know your WHY, let me go to the second principle.

  • Practise, practise and practise. If there is no hand from God to your brain cells, you need to work on acquiring it. As I was not good at math and physics I worked twice, three times more than the others to acquire what seemed to me impossible. Do courses, read a lot, ask additional questions and assure yourself you understand what they are talking about.

I am positive, but I am not gonna lie to you. This is the hard step. The work that you must input to achieve what you want. Stay calm, if something will go wrong and always remind yourself why you want what you want and why you are doing what you are doing. Know that the things you are doing will ultimately take you to the path. Also, know, that if something will be going in the wrong direction for a long time, it most probably means you need to 1. either wait without action (this is usually after a one-year of ultimate work) or 2. you need to change what you do. The second step is important to understand. I wrote it there because sometimes the pathway we choose for the result we want to achieve is just wrong. Believe me, when I say, you will know when it will be the case. That’s why I am saying, don’t worry too much about it. And also, please don’t blame yourself that you “wasted” your time on it. That is a negative mindset that will ultimately start to root your why. I don’t know how much you believe in some God, Universe or whatever, but I know, that everything, even the “wrong” stuff will provide you priceless lessons that will help you be guided to the ultimate desire you have. That is just the holy truth and if you don’t believe in it, just watch.

  • The third principle is requiring you to mix your belief with your imagination. If you do things but you are living in a space of misery and doubt in your mind, nothing will happen.

The third principle is as much important as the other two. This principle requires a bit of practice too, but I can encourage you that this is the fun part : ) There are multiple practices you can do, including:

  1. sharing your ideas with loved ones

  2. painting, crafting or printing the idea you have (For two years I had a printed picture on my desk where I was studying the school I want to go to. Each time I looked up, I saw my why)

  3. meditation (In general, meditation helps the mind to focus more effectively)

  4. look up anything about the desire you want to achieve and know the possibilities you can participate in (I wanted it soo much that I participated in a project that led me to collaborate with one of the students at that school)

  5. check what skills and abilities you need to have to possess what you want to achieve (This can be anything, and you can develop your skills through books, free training, volunteering, online courses, etc.)

  6. always STAY POSITIVE AND BELIEVE BLINDLY BUT FIRMLY (I know it sounds silly but it works, try it, keep it and stay with it no matter what)

Well…I believe now, that if I did not push you to do something I might inspire you to at least think about it. This is the beauty, that you can always change your desire but in the end, you remain with a handful amount of skills in your pocket. So, in the end, I think it is worth at least try.

This is my math test to prove you, how bad I was:

This is me and my why in reality:

I hope this will give you a chance to think and for the next time…

Take care.

Love & hugs,

ZlatkaK
